marpkins

n.  The small details of a project left unfinished which later come back to haunt and/or embarrass. Especially indicative of half-baked schemes, far-fetched utopias and failed renovations. As in "slapped in the face by the weight of all marpkins, the poet quit writing forever to sell advertising for an internet startup."
