n. Thinking a word simultaneously with its being spoken in
auditory media to which one is not paying full attention.
For example, while driving in the car with the radio on, one
might be thinking of buying a present: "...I shouldn't get
something too extravagant." At the same time, the speaker on
the radio says "The decorations at the gala were very
extravagant." When one notices that one's thought of the
word extravagant and the radio's broadcast of that word
exactly coincide in time, one has had a thoughtcast.06/17/2007
